I have a 1991 26 foot Carver Command Bridge. What is the best and/or simplest way to install air conditioning in this boat. Thanks so much for any input you can give me!! Karen :)

Re: Air Conditioning

Can you put in a window unit? Or do you want a built in system?

Re: Air Conditioning

Installing a system is an expensive job and time consuming. There is a lot of planning such as what size ac, where to put unit, running ductwork, pump and thru hull fittings.Do you have a generator or just dockside electric?

Re: Air Conditioning

a friend of mine completed a replacement for his old A/C unit on his 37' Irwin about a year ago. The unit was about 3 BOAT units for the unit itself, purchased at a boat show to get a discount. took about 6 hours to install after removing the old unit, however that was just a replacement, so the location was already determined.

you will be adding a few thru-hull fittings for the heat exchanger.
