As I said before I am restoring a 1980 Santa Cruz with a rebuilt 260hp Mercrusier 350 and brand new aftermarket SEI106(alpha 1). Does anyone else out there have this setup, if so what is your max and cruise speed, and prop size and pitch. I have 4 blade 15.75/16 at the moment and only getting about 4000 rpm/19mph, going to change that this morn to a 3 blade 15.75/15. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Dive,
I have a very similar setup right now. I have a 228 merc with the same aftermarket SE106 If you go to Carver yatchs online you can get some info. Here is the site i was looking at http://media.channelblade.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company624/_17_44200743819PM.pdf
I am also curious about the prop pitch for my boat. Currently a 17 is just cavitating, and i was recommended a 21 pitch, but i would ike to see what carver has to say about it.

That is very interesting, I am running a 15" x 15 pitch prop, top RPM 's is about 4300, top end i might see 32 mph, and at 3500 I get maybe 23mph. not 29mph and 37mph like they say. Fuel consumption is around 2 mpg if its calm, and under 1.5 mpg in seas. I am on my second SE106 the first one self destructed at about 500 hrs ( Thank god for the 3 yr warranty!) Just past past the breakin on the new one now. I am interested in the comparrison of my rpms and speed to yours!

Dive:

Just happened across your post. We live up in Crystal River. 1980 Santa Cruz. Mine is an in-board. 351 Ford, Velvet Drive tranny, Walter V-Drive.
You say Alpha I. I'm guessing your's is an I/O. Wish mine was. This V-Drive takes up too much room and weights too much. Maybe we could meet up, drink beer, and compare notes sometime.
