1987 Trophy 2160 available engine sizes?

It seems most (maybe all) of the 21ft Bayliner Trophy's came from the factory with a 4 cyl engine. But I see a few of the 21ft boats with 5 liter engines. I am wondering if these motors are stock or if they are upgraded from 4 cylinders. If they ARE upgraded from a 4 cyl, how much work needs to be done to the transom and outdrive to make everything fit and work properly?

After doing some research I found out that Bayliner used both, the 4 cylinder motor and the 5.0L 8 cylinder.
