OK... this is my first post on this forum and the first boat that I have ever purchased let alone try to restore. I am on my way, as the interior has been stripped, the exterior has been sanded and I have begun applying Interlux paint the to the boat. I have questions, the Baretta logos were in bad shape, should I keep them or toss them? Please post any tips for a first timer, especially for those out there that have worked on Baretta boats!

Re: 89 Baretta Restoration

Looks like you have your work cut out for you, but it should be worth it once finished. I've seen Baretta logos on eBay before, so I'd check there every now & then if you'd to replace them. Also, if you're looking for lots of advice & input I would post your thread under Boat Restoration and Building. There are not a lot of Baretta owners out there & this Baretta manufacturer doesn't get a lot of traffic.

ditto what jasla said..
..

welcome to I-Boats, and he's right .. there are a few of us Barretta owners..
but luckly.. a boat is a boat.. and alot of the same tips and tricks work on all boats...

and engines.. are engines.. check that forum.. lots of good info there as well.

alot of boats use the same engine and outdrive combo..

as far as name plates.. if your restoring... good luck.. if its just modifications.. you can come up with something custom.. lots of options..
I have seen where a guy actually had an aluminum plate made that had the name laser cut out.. very nice..
