Recently bought a 1975 AlumaCraft model F-7.

As you can see from the 2 attached pics I need to replace the wood on the Transom. Otherwise the boat is in good structural shape.

Last day or two was reviewing various posts on this topic. Does anyone have a pic or two as to what the original AlumaCraft factory transom wood looks like as to shape and size ? And also what kind of hard wood the factory may have used ?

Thanks.

Re: AlumaCraft 1975 Model F-7 TRANSOM Repair

I have a 1973 model and it has exact same transom plate leading me to believe these are original.

I plan on replacing the outside plate with Arauco plywood sealed with epoxy - I'm not sure on what kind of wood to use for the inside plate.

PS: I totally love that boat
