replied to Repower my 16 SS
Compression is good. 132 133 125. I had a guy sync the carbs last year but he was a one man small town shop that fixed all water craft and Im not sure he did it well. Good spark that will jump 7/16 gap. Not sure if I could get a smooth idle at a low...

  • I always think a fair deal is a price a seller is willing to accept and a buyer is willing to pay. As a buyer, I can never complain about over paying for something because I was willing to pay it.

  • Ya, that stuff probably isn't very good for your skin. That's why I'm wearing nitrile gloves when working with the carb cleaner. Your option would probably have been a bit cheaper since you can get it in large cans....

  • My new toy --- first boat -- 1983 Celebrity 176V S/Sport

I just purchased my first boat. Actually i traded a 200k mile 97 BMW for this all original 1983 Celebrity 176V. I think it was a pretty good trade!! It only has 368 hours on it and sounded and rode very nice. It definitely shows its age and has...

  • Yeah, i've tried those places and have yet to see a single part for that boat. Every dealer i talk to acts like i'm from another planet when i ask if they can get parts for it.

    Chris Craft 328

Can anyone share some suggestions or tips regarding the convertible dinette on the Chris Craft 328? It seems simple enough but I cannot seem to make it comfortable. I was told that sections on the backrest velcro off to make it a more comfortable bed...

  • First off.. WELCOME to iboats! Nice looking boat. What size motor is hanging on it? She is in overall good condition. I suggest restoring it. What problems does she have?

Does any one have any pictures of how the poles attach to the boat? I have a 1986 Renken 16 1/2' boat. It has a full top and poles. There is nothing on the boat to attach the poles to....

  • 2000 Lund Mr Pike 17 - New to me - Hole in hull - Front Livewell Drain?

I bought a 2000 Lund Mr Pike 17 last weekend. Test drive went well and no water in bilge etc, ran great, so I bought it. After getting home from the lake this past weekend, I noticed a hole in the front left side of the boat on the hull (im guessing...

  • to the Starmada Scott!

You have some really active 16SS guys here right now that know all the ins and outs of that fine craft. She looks pretty seaworthy right now other than the transom wood looking a bit too dark. That 3cyl 70's...

OK. I think I understand. When you say the top frame rail, you're referring to the frame rail that connects to the bottom of the glass, but you refer to it as the "top" rail because it sits above some other custom mounted extrusion. OK. Start...

As you can see when the boat isn't moving the hinge is barely in the water. This gives 2 steps under water to help lard buts like myself get back in. Once under way the ladder has never been a problem with it clicked up in place. We use the boat for...

I checked the knee brace, its good both on the keel and the mount to the transom. I will be cleaning and painting the inside of the transom area, paint is coming from Amazon, along with the 5200 to seal up the new stainless fasteners when we reassemble....

that about sums up the process of trying to replace the bow cover supports without removing the cover. The wood supports are put in first at the factory and then the bow cover piece is added on top, although on an SS there isn't much of a bow cover...
