This photo was picked up by our local news station webpage (WJTV, Jackson, MS). Yeah, I know, big surprise [insert stereotype and/or "you might be a redneck" joke, here].

Not quite sure what do with this other than to just place it here and let the conversation unfold on whether this is the safest way to beat the winter blues and get out fishing.

In fairness, I'm not sure if there is an outboard tiller or gas can on the boat (or a fire ext. for that matter), but I'm not sure that would change my position any...

With that said, discuss.. :joyous:

Rumor has it that the fireplace was a custom feature on older model Tracker Jon Boats..., Due to coast guard regs and product liability recalls, this "amenity" is no longer available as a factory upgrade...

What's the problem, I don't get it.

What, the fire?

The fire can't see that guy anyway so he's fine. He blends right in to the trees there. Plus, he's warm. Carry on.

Actually since we cannot see what contained the fire, or what fire control systems he had, or where the gas can is (if any), who am I to judge? The idea that someone is "redneck" seems strange to me....we used to call it ingenuity, now we make fun. *shrug*

You guys just don't understand. He was getting the grill fired up for the fish he was catching. What's more tastier then some freshly caught fish on the grill? Sounds like an absolute perfect plan to me...

If the dummy would only turn around he'd see the "hot" lure in the bottom of the boat.

Notice how the fishing seat behind him is slightly tilted towards the flames. Eureka!! Finally in convertible proof of spontaneous human combustion.

You can boil water in a ziplock bag - I tried it, it works. So a fire in a metal boat isn't going to affect much besides combustible materials. I wouldn't do it, but there are people who grill on their boats all the time. Could be a hibatchi lighting off.
