pc gurus....help!!

acer laptop, windows 8, showing error code S1L457 and showing system at risk etc etc, gives a number to call. cant close this window. the screen looks like the attached but not exactly identical.

You are showing an error( virus) that is related to Mac computers, but you mention having Windows 8?

Are you in fact getting that same code?

its friends acer laptop, running win8.showing a similiar screen as in the pic. cant close that window.

must be a virus, the phone numbers are different from the pic i posted and the msg on the pc screen.

Can you do a hard boot (push the off button and hold), and then start in safe mode (hold SHIFT key), then see if you can identify the virus? (I'd shoot a photo of the screen first)

If it is windows 8, you should be able to hit control key, alt key and delete key at the same time, this will bring up a menu which the last choice is Task Manager, open that and then you should be able click on the program that is generating that error window and shut it down. Once done, you need to run a scan on the computer to see if you have bug, also make sure Windows defender is on and is up to date. By the way, don't call that number, if you do, you will be set up for daily robo calls for at least a year if not more!

was in the task manager shutting programs off, nothing was working out. took it to a shop for a hopefull fix.
