Broke the top of a cherry tomato plant clean off.
It's about 3' tall as it sits and has set some fruit already below the break.
I have been picking off the vee suckers as they sprout to keep it to a main stem only.

Is there anything possible to get it t sprout a side stem at this point?

My personal experiences: Cherry tomatoes are a hardy plant (weedlike). Let a/some suckers grow and you'll have more tomatoes, or pick a sucker for the new head. A fallen branded tomato I had was let to grow next year and it came up cherries.

Have you tried to slowly bend the main stalk a little bit each day(tied to a stake) till it's horizontal? then you will get many vertical mains as your plant continues to grow horizontally. Just an idea to consider. Cherry tomatoes are like weeds, they grow well in just about any location, and getting rid of them was my biggest issue the following year. So many seeds from dropped fruit, that they sprouted everywhere the following seasons.

It is staked vertical....if remove the support it should lie horizontally.
I'll give that a try. Thanks.
