Reparing a side window in a car

Sister-in-law was ready to leave our house with a thunder storm trying to form up. Her driver's side electric window would not roll up.

I'm not enough of a mechanic to tear her door panel out and fix her problem so I did the next best thing.

Plastic drop cloth and duct tape.:facepalm:

STEP ONE Check the window LOCK and see if it has been activated.

Step2 keep up button depressed while slamming door closed.

Step 3 Kiss the SIL on the cheek and remind her to drive careful!

Wile pushing on the up button move the wiring harness in the door jam. Its common the wires to brake in the harness there.

Only thing I can add is if you try to fix it DONT stick your hand into the door with the panel removed unless the battery is disconnected. A good way to lose your hand or fingers.

i have taken off inner door panels and got power windows to go up using a battery frm a cordless drill dirrectly on the motor...only works if its a switch or wiring issue...screewed if its a motor issue
