Firefox problems- navigation buttons

Anyone experience problems with Firefox recently? I noticed that I have lost the ability to use the navigation icons to move forward or back on web pages- they are simply "grayed out". I tried to uninstall and reinstall a new download, but it didn't work, so I downloaded Opera browser. I am actually pretty happy with Opera so far, but miss Firefox. Did a search and found many entries about it, but none of the fixes have worked. I guess I need to look for viral infections now, though I do have AVG and Zone alarm active.

Opera is by far the better browser,i chose it over firefox and never looked back.I run kaspersky antivirus and internet security and they are pretty secure and keep you safe.
