GE Portable Dishwasher

I have a GE Portable dishwasher that won't take water in from the tap. I used it one day and it worked fine, then a couple days later it doesn't draw any water. I didn't do anything differently, or move or anything. Just hooked it up and no water. I have tried testing the water inlet valve with an ohmmeter and there was a measurable resistance so it's not the electrical part of the valve that's shot. Any other ideas?

Does yours have a float shut off ????

I have a whirlpool and twice it has happened.
the first time the float got stuck in the up position I just touched the float and it fell back to the open position.
The other time i didn't rotate the start knob to the exact right position.
Made all sorts of noise but no water. Rotated the dial a few times and it's been fine since.

Just some info for ya..

Thanks for the quick reply. I checked the float shut off and everything seems fine there. Also I rotated the nob about 10 times so far so I don't think that's the problem. Any other suggstions are greatly appreciated. The thing is barely a year old and I have no idea what would have caused this.
