Had this happen once, crossed the negitive and the positive and had quite an explosion!!!I had safety glasses on,which by the way was the only thing that saved my eyes, and acid everywhere. I have a nice scar about an inch long under my right eye where I was cut by the battery parts. I always where safety glasses now. Some people have to learn the hard like me.

Quick story...I was driving across the country(around Montana), during a winter storm and a guy was in the middle of the road, car was sideways and the hood was up. <br />I stopped and asked him if he needed help. Said his battery blew while driving. <br />Luckily I just happened to have a spare with me. <br />I gave it to him and left. <br />Hopefully it all worked out for him.
