Sounds like an ECM issue to me. You may want to take it to a shop and let them run a diagnostic on it. I went through the same exact thing on my Jeep Grand Cherokee last year. Crank and crank and crank, let it sit, crank then finally start. I changed fuel pump, filter, regulator, and no change. Finally one day the better half got in, it fired right up like it never had a problem, ever. It died a few miles later, never to start again. Took it to the shop, the computer had died. $1100 and a new computer later, it was running like a champ.
