Up at the lake our water heater electric is 45 years old outside under the cottage in the elements. Speaking of elements l have replaced only one in this time only because l became lazy to clean the calcium of of it. But it's still in the garage if in l have nothing to do.

In years pass, I did remove the heater elements and sand blasted them back to clean metal. And they works like new. When you see the sediment that collects in the lower section of water heaters, it make you wonder what you are drinking.
