a shot of ether and a match and the tire bead will be set in under a second. I couldnt even find a rope in that time. this tread makes me shudder thinking of all the tires dad and I changed, which just reafirms my desire to take my tires in to have mounted/ballanced, etc.

bigdee alloy wheels, especially GM wheels are not finished on the inside and corrode from the air put in the tires. number one reason for bead leaks on GM vehicles.

Good quality ratchet strap around the tread normally will change the geometry of the tire enough to allow it to seat with the air compressor.

Tried that but rim was too wide. Tried inflating a bicycle inner tube around gap but that did not work either. Tire shop also had some difficulty with them. The tires were new but were flattened some from being stacked. When I got them home from the tire shop I used my bubble balancer to double check their spin balance and they all were dead center on bubble.
