...am hanging tight, dolluper. Sure don't want no stinkin' printer issues.

I have HP C6180 "All In One" (bought in 2007) Brother H-5170 (bought in 2004) printers. They work in WIN10 just like they did in 7 , XP, Linux and my wifes new Macbook pro.......

Which printers are having problems in 10?

Boom lately I have being fixing printer problems only on machines with windows 10 ....most manufactures have NOT written proper drivers as of yet ......bidirectional support seems to be missing in most.....and micro keeps giving errors even when corrected....again hang on buddy let them sort this out first ...remember your previous printer nightmares this is worse....some even quit working......but ifin you buy a brand new one tomorrow you might get lucky

The key is to have a decent printer. Mfg do not run right out and invest a bunch of money writing drivers for an $89 printer that they sold 5 years ago. Best bet is to stick with mid tier HP products, they last forever and typically have great driver support.

Havnt't been able to get my reliable old HP 2100 to work with windows 7, over the network.? I use that printer primarily for my old DOS based business program which I run on an XP PC but it would be nice to be able to print on it from my Win 7 Laptop.

WIN7 x32 or x64?

I'll assume that you have the most current WIN7 (32/64) driver/software?

HP's most current driver for that printer is
Type:Software - Universal Print Driver
Version:1.7.9(4 Nov 2015)
Operating System(s):
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit) | Hide all
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 W32

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
Microsoft Windows 8 (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows Server 2012
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Shouldn't matter though........The most current driver is dated NOV or 2015. His network problem might not be related to the printer at all......and more related to network(server) printing........

Yep! I bought it around early/mid 2003 and it was a used unit at that point. It has been a stellar printer. It's kind of like the energizer bunnie.
