PM's won't delete....

I tried to send a PM today and it said that I could not because I have exceeded my storage limit. Went in several times and checked a bunch of PM's to delete. It said they had been sent to trash but when the screen refreshed, they were still there. After several tries, I went back and tried to send the PM. Same result.

I've found this PM system is similar to many email systems. Delete moves messages to the Trash folder, then you have take out the trash by deleting messages in the Trash folder. Trash messages are counted in the PM message limit, again like many email systems. Try it and you will be able to send messages again.

Actually, I cannot even find where to get into my mailbox. I did it before by clicking on the poster's name. It brought up info for him and had a buttom for private message. Otherwise, I cannot find access to it. If I click on my name, it does not give me the PM button.

Nothing on the top right of this screen, or any other. I do not even see my name, as I used to. I know I am logged in or you wouldn't see my avatar when I 'post reply'.

EDIT: ok, I see it now. It is wayyyy up at the top right of the screen.

Ok, I got into my message box from the button at the top right of any page. It apparently let me delete all my messages and allowed me to send a new PM This it would not do when I got to my mailbox thru a poster's link.

However, the Message Button, shows red numbers when you have notifications of responses to your posts. This sucks. You can't tell if they are notifications or new PM's!

I hear ya, when you see the number, you're not sure if it's a notification or PM. I personally would like to turn notifications off completely and not receive notifications in the Message Center. Would be a nice additional option. Right now you can turn notifications off, but you still get a notice in the Message Center.

I agree about notifications, it can sometimes be confusing. Me and tsermon just discovered the issue regarding deleting PM's on Friday and have reported this to the vBulletin team.

To add insult to injury, the Notification number, in the red box next to the Messages box, at the top of the page, will not zero out even after you have looked at the notification. Grrrrr!

It will, you have to delete the notifications of people posting to threads you have started. It's a pain and I'm trying to find an Admin setting to correct that.
