For my $.02, I'm fairly invisible on the internet. If you google my actual name, you won't find me. (I check regularly) I have no social media. No Linked in. I prefer to stay anonymous. It has both benefits and draw backs. I wouldn't mind sharing contact info with many here on iboats, but that's after several years of getting to know folks on here. Just signing up in the beginning, I think people get concerned about who can access that information.

I'm trying to understand just how much it would help. I have a thread on here about my windlass. How would knowing where I live improve that? Or the litany of previous boats I've owned? I guess you could determine the extent of my experience, but what else?
