Breaking news . . . MBTA (Boston's commuter & subway service) has announced it is shutting down at 7 PM this evening (Monday) and cancelling all service for Tuesday. 1.3 Million people use the MBTA each day. Looks like few if any will be going to work tomorrow.

Latest snow accumulation map from NWS . . .

Note the 2-3 feet accumulation right around Boston . . . out in the suburbs, we did OK, but the city got croaked.

6 ft of snow in a month in metro Boston and less than a foot at some New England slopes for the season. Don't blink, another storm forcast for Thursday.

You're just gonna have to get used to it.
It's normal.
You live north of the Mason-Dixon,
its winter,
and you live on the coast where N'or easters just happen.

feel better?

Not to belabor the point, but...normal for Boston is 11.6 inches per month for Jan and Feb.. 70+ inches in three weeks is pretty far from normal for those folks. Only one was a Noreaster, the other storms were clippers. Too late, I belabored!

Just trying to cheer you all up. Kind of like you boys did for me last winter, when we were 20* below normal for 5 months. :D

Only 10-14" of new snow predicted for the weekend in the Boston area . . . probably will feel like a dusting in comparison. :)

Hope all is well out there.

It is about 0 F with -15 wind chill now. Headed toward -10 with wind chills down to -35. Cold, snowy and blizzard like.

Hopefully winters last hard push.

yea, we were -10F yesterday (Saturday) morning . . . I think Bondo might have taken the prize at -32F, as he indicated on another post. I am expecting snow accumulations on the lower side of the forecasted amounts, based on what I see this morning.

Oopps . . . I lied. . . we got 14" of snow (which is on the high side of the forecast) . . . most of it came between 7 - 9 AM . . .

Hey Ted: found this in the parking lot around my truck this morning ...

Wondering if it's yours? :D

Doesn't look like much - and isn't really - but it's more ice than snow, and for Nashville it is pretty much Armageddon.

I thought I should post this so you guys up North don't feel like you're suffering through this alone. We're breaking records down here too.
