Deep in the heart of Texas - That's the scene of the next race, Texas Motor Speedway. Cup, Nationwide and Trucks are competing on the 1.5 mile oval. We don't talk about Nationwide or Camping World much here, but both series are also down to the final three races. In N-Wide, Chase Elliott has the points lead by 42 over Regan Smith, while the Truck standings have Matt Crafton 18 points up on Ryan Blaney and Darrell Wallace Jr. is four points behind Blaney. It's too early to call a winner in either series, still some good racing to go. The Texas schedule From MRN:

In the Cup Chase, what a turn of events for Harvick and Keselowski. Both of them wrecking out at Martinsville really put them behind the 8-Ball in their chances of advancing to the season finale at Homestead. They are at the bottom of the standings and put the pressure on to pull out a win here in Texas or Phoenix. Keso is used to it, having to win in Talladega to move on. Harvick has said that if he can't win the Championship, neither will Kenseth after he was spun out by Kenseth in the last race. Oh, the drama.

Martinsville was the first Chase race won by a non-Chaser. Dale Jr. put the hurt the Chasers because none have the automatic advance to Homestead. Gordon is on top with his 2nd place behind Jr. The current points going into Texas.

In The News
  • Michael Waltrip is still dancing.
  • In addition to the Harvick/Kenseth feud, we have another. This one with Kahne and Vickers. Vickers is saying Kahne spun him on purpose and the two got together several more times before the race was over. Nascar finally issued a cease and desist warning. I'm not sure Logano and Danica are a done deal, either.
  • 7 of the 8 remaining Chase drivers took part in testing at Homestead this week. Only Newman sat out.
  • Levy Restaurants will unveil the ultimate race track chow - Hawg Heaven Bacon Nachos consists of tri-color tortilla chips sprinkled with bacon powder and topped with white cheese bacon nacho sauce, candied bacon, jalapenos, black beans, pico de gallo and sour cream. These are the same people who created the bacon-infused beer milkshake. Enjoy! :faint2:

The latest winner is QC, who gets to put the :first: on his mantle. Congrats, QC! The overall leader is 64osby, leading FlaCowboy by 618 points. I think this Chase is over. :D

The best fight all year. Gordon and Keso. Both of them have some marks on their faces, a few fists were thrown. In the interview Gordon called Keso a dipXXXX. I agree!. Hope the DVR's were set up if you missed the race. Gordo and Keso came together on the final restart and the 24 cut a tire. They were in 2nd and 3rd when they scraped.

Oh - JJ won the race. After everything was said and done, Gordon went from the Chase lead to the bubble. Oh my!

QC moved to the front and took the race lead. Overall, 64osby lost a few points to Cowboy, but I think he's still safe.

Just finished watching the tape. Wow Cautionfest to" DipS#!+" taking Gordon out. Nice win by JJ.

Early on this season I was a fan of Keso but not in the last few races. I laughed when they compared his racing style to Dale E #3.

Aspect, - I didn't change my team this week.

I don't know, I saw Dale Sr. do some pretty nasty stuff over the years, especially before he was real well known...

Dale E. was a rough but respectful man....NOT a smart a** kid

He was very respectful when he got older, when he was younger, He was a ball of fire, he was out to dethrone the kings of the sport and had some very interesting run ins and interviews on TV, I loved to watch the guy race, but am glad he became a well respected racer. I also remember when Gordon started and some well publicized feuds between him, Dale and a few of the other well established drivers. That said, I think NASCAR needs to reel Brad in and put him on a leash, or someone is really going to get hurt, I don't expect to see pay back next week, The race is to important, but I can sure see it carrying over to next year.

I was fortunate when I first stationed on the east coast when I started my military career and was able to attend a lot of regional races and was able to watch Sr. as he was coming up through the ranks, so just as Petty, Baker and a lot of the other big name stars, they were all rough when they started, something has a burr up Brad's butt and I don't think he is going to like it when it gets pulled out!

I didn't change mine either ... Almost picked up JJ, but decided to leave it alone ...

Keso needs a suspension for the rest of the season ... The last few races there has been one common denominator ... Baby Brad .... I missed the whole race, but caught the fight later on ... Fun fight! Ha!

Too bad ESPN can't get Cosell to call the next fight/race.

Actually, this is just what Nascar wanted. They wanted added emotion instead of a ho-hum boring Chase which was already decided with a few races to go. They got it! Harvick turning Brad around and pushing him toward Gordon was priceless.

I missed the race too. Spent the afternoon with our daughter. Just watched the replay. IDK, I don't think Keso did anything wrong. Gordo left a hole big enough to drive a MAC truck through it. Gordo drifted up. Keso took advantage. The in-car shows Gordo then came down..

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/moto...014/vp-BBcDtmD

Looked like neither one landed a punch. I think they got roughed up by the crews. Also looked like Harvick started it by pushing Brad from the back, then Gordo decided he wanted to be a tough guy....

Had pretty good weekend. I had dropped 35 points to the leader in my other league last week. She had Brad, Gordon, Harvick and I had Brad Jimmie, Harvick. Oddly enough, that gave me 1, 2 and 3, and I beat her by 141 points, so now up by 106. Pretty darn happy about that!

What a show at the end. They may all be mad at Brad, but there is not one owner, crew chief, and very few fans that wouldn't;t want their driver to shoot for that opening in the same situation. And I think he had position. Gordon then came down on him,. That's the way I see it.

I agree, I really don't think in this instance, Brad didn't do anything that bad, he went for the hole, where he is having problems is after it is all over and his comments are pretty smart ***ed. I think one of the major situations happening here, is more and more often, when something does happen, Brad always seems to be right in the middle of it, so perception is playing a roll here. Like I said, the next couple of races are two important, I don't really think we are going to see to much happen, but watch out next season, when everyone is fresh and those bumps and bruises start festering..

Why are all these little NASCAR drivers fighting? It's not like it's even real racing anymore... just cookie cutter cars with the same packages. YAWN.

Millions of dollars, seem to be a good reason, I know they make a heck of a lot more than I do!
