Just an added note ... last day of rifle season the Colonel bagged a doe. He is 82 with 2 replaced hips, and in need of knee replacements, but they would not do it because of his cancer. Yesterday he got word the cancer has not grown any, and might actually be shrinking. Next step, 2 new knees so he can be at full strength for hunting season next year! Sure will miss him when he can't join us any more. Don't want to see that day come.

aspeck, those are great posts you supplied for everybody to read. I'm originally from PA and ended up in GA. But it has been a long time since I hunted for anything now. I do like to fish and hunt, but it is getting harder to find land to hunt safely on anymore. However, I'm so glad you still want to hunt with the elderly and post such stories as well. Those special times will stay with you forever...
