Just a quick poll if you guys think SeaFoam is better or Lucas? I thought lucas because it's newer but if you have an older motor SeaFoam because that formula is better suited for older motors.

What are you thoughts?

Re: SeaFoam or Lucas ? Quick Poll

don't know anything about Lucas oil or 2 stroke products, what they are recommended / rated for, what is in them, or where to get them.

What Lucas product are you referring to, how do you use it, and what is the intended purpose.

SeaFoam is a fuel stabilizer, fuel system cleaner, and decarbing solution.

The only Lucas 2 stroke product I know of is an oil, which may or may not be tcw-3 rated, but is also recommended for air cooled motors. ?

I guess it might clean the fuel system, but is not recommended as a stabilizer or decarb solution. Not is it recommended for 2 strokes, or specifically water cooled 2 strokes; so it may actually cause more problems than it is worth.

I will stick with SeaFoam.

Thanks for your input. SeaFoam seems like a pretty popular choice and many I've talked to also recommend it. I've used Lucas on my Lexus and benz and I felt a big difference but you're right SeaFoam maybe better for marine. I think I'll stick with SeaFoam as well.

When I first started using SeaFoam, it was around $5 a pint.

Now, it is about $9 a pint.

I switched to Marvel MO and red Heat, after reading home-made mixtures
on the forums. Works just as good, and much less expensive.

Don't know Lucas in this neighborhood.

Lucas does make some fine products, for specific uses. They are well known in most racing circuits.

I have used the injector cleaner in the past, but use seafoam in everything now.

Seafoam is used to clean the old built up varnishes in the fuel system. Lucas is more of a lube for the upper fuel system. I use Lucas in my vehicles, lawnmower, weed eater, rototiller and blower. It made a drastic improvement on these engines - and they take a fuel mix.

Tried Lucas in an old Datsun 280 Z with a fresh rebuild. Had to do it again. Wiped out the rods in two hours. Not a fan. Went with Castrol after that. Still running today. Other than the old Datsoon?, I go oem all the way. Everything. Oil filters etc. While were talking oil I wouldn't put a Wix or Fram on my dishwasher.

Seafoam is what I will stay with.I've used it with excellent results on cleaning out fuel system as well as a fuel stabilizer.I've had people on this board say seafoam is just snake oil,but like I said it has worked great for me.

Using SeaFoam will make you sleep better at night...

...or just drink a beer. Does about the same thing.
