  • Charles W Morgan Whaleship Photos

Here are some photos I took this week of the Charles W Morgan, which is undergoing a three year restoration project in Mystic CT.
The CWM is the last remaining wooden whaling ship.

There is also a photo gallery of the October hauling. Just follow the links.
    Enjoy!!!

I would have loved to watch them dismast and pull that puppy up the ways.
I was there about 5 years ago - they were working on the second scantling for the Amistad. The keel was purple heart; the donor must have been a monster.

For anyone that has never been to Mystic Harbor - you need to visit this place.
There are few places you can go to see what this place has to offer.
Down the road is the biggest library of boat plans that can they will photocopy for you (for a fee of course).
