Extreme inflammation type pain... Toradol. That's prescription and its an injection normally, but is almost magical for some pains that narcotics don't help. Get the relief so the ibuprofen or even aspirin+ caffeine (I used to take a lot of aspirin with Mt Dew) can handle it.
The base cause being inflamed bone and tendon you have to relieve the cause.
That's often poorly fitting shoes.
Orthotics fill in for shoes that have poor to no arch support built in. Cheap shoes... or shoes made more for looks than for walking.
Stylish women's shoes are just about guaranteed to cause foot problems. Its not worth it. Say no to high heels.
Expensive as heck... go to a GOOD custom boot maker. $900 - $1500 boots that will fix your feet. One pair can last 10 years. Cheaper than surgery...
