A few of us have been talking about old compressors, got me thinking.....

I'm old, so I love old stuff from the past that was built well and still works. Here's some of mine, post yours.

When we were young we made our own shop air from early 2 cyl . air conditioner compressors ,my first one was from a 71 Ford camper special that grandfather put on aftermarket when he retired and started pu camping and wintering in Fla.. Air brooms and good blow job kept things running longer .haha fixed everything .

Every once in a while I'll come across a tool or some small item that I've had for 20 or 30 years and I think "Huh, there's something the ex-wife missed."
Otherwise, I'm the oldest thing in my house. :D

I still have a few sockets and wrenches I bought in the mid 60's. They are part of a set I got at a Jewelry store, of all places. Brand name is Mustang, no idea who actually manufactured them.

Where I worked the old timers that were there before I came had a motto. Fix it up, wear it out, make it do or do without. That's a lot harder today.

I posted some old tools last year.

Here's one I cleaned and sharpened for a friend..

Rainy day in the NE today, so I took apart an old 35 yr old Black & Decker Table saw and converted this bathrm vanity into a rolling work cart/table saw. I want to ad a router as well. Thinking about adding dust collection to the lower half.

My goal was to build this with just the materials around my shop,.. last night I made the rip fence and crosscut sled for my newly constructed tablesaw,..I searched the internet for a simple clamping system for the rip fence,(im not opposed to using a clamp at each end, been doing it the way my entire life) ,.. but I thought Id like to do one better with this table. I found this idea of running a 3/8" bolt through a short pc of 1-1/2" pvc,..with a tightening knob,.. theory being that when the knob is tightened it spreads the pvc, squeezing the to the table. The table has a piece of cove on the front to except the curve of the pvc. I havnt torqued down on it yet till the glue dries, but so far it slides nice. lll give it the full test tomorrow. If this doesnt work ill use the same handle setup on a block and wedge. But this could be a way for a no cost closing system for hatches, doors, storage compartments, ect.
