My goal was to build this with just the materials around my shop,.. last night I made the rip fence and crosscut sled for my newly constructed tablesaw,..I searched the internet for a simple clamping system for the rip fence,(im not opposed to using a clamp at each end, been doing it the way my entire life) ,.. but I thought Id like to do one better with this table. I found this idea of running a 3/8" bolt through a short pc of 1-1/2" pvc,..with a tightening knob,.. theory being that when the knob is tightened it spreads the pvc, squeezing the to the table. The table has a piece of cove on the front to except the curve of the pvc. I havnt torqued down on it yet till the glue dries, but so far it slides nice. lll give it the full test tomorrow. If this doesnt work ill use the same handle setup on a block and wedge. But this could be a way for a no cost closing system for hatches, doors, storage compartments, ect.
