Everyone is ok but the car is totaled. Tripped the bags witch broke the window. Sad to see her go. Just put in a new alternator this past weekend and spent some time cleaning it up. Iv spent 90 miles a day in her for the last couple months and have grown attached to the little turd

A quick detailing and it should be as good as new.

Sorry to hear about it, but it's great no one was injured.

Bummer

I got hit by a sheet of masonite that flew out of a truck bed on the freeway tonight on my way home. You faired worse.

Hope all are ok and its driveable short term.

I had to get the cops to track down the truck's driver, luckily I got his plate #. And he fessed up, so it goes against his insurance.

Good luck w the ins company and getting a quick repair.

The car is totaled. This body escort is just about worthless. I hit a deer, probably 59 on the highway. Never had time to brake. Came out at a dead run and I didn't see it till it was on the hood.

Not sure what damage is below the sheet metal. You may be able to buy the car back from the ins company and replace the crumpled body panels (hood fender and headlight assy) with junk yard parts and keep on driving her.

The airbags will cost more than the car.

Just glad nobody but the car was hurt!

Be safe

Let's not forget about the deer :)

Glad the everyone else is OK.

Looks repairable, probably just more than the insurance value, so 'technically' totaled.

I didn't have full coverage on it, just the bare minimum bc it's worth so little. I would totally try fixing it if the bags didn't go off but between that and the broken windshield, it would be too much. I traded a $300 ranger for it 3 years ago. Iv got my use out of it. Just going to pull the use able parts and call the salvage yard. Anyone want to buy a very slightly used alternator?

What a bummer, man. If it were my smoker, I'd just cut the airbags out, put a new(used) bonnet and headlight on and keep on chugging around in it...............

Bummer ... those little Escorts are great cars. I drove one for years. While apparently not "deer" proof, they're otherwise pretty bullet proof.

Glad you're alright. Good luck replacing it.

Just a note, but might suggest checking with the insurance company about pulling parts off. They sell them to the junk yards and the yards expect a whole car.

Might have been better you didn't have time to react. Hitting the breaks might have put the deer in the front seat.

Looking on the highways these days you see so many of the big rigs with grill guards, deer hits are really bad when the rut is going on.

I think a little buffing and some wax and it will be good as new. Did I tell you the radio still works. Trains, Planes and Automobiles...

I actually revive worst myself. But if you are not into such things, let it go and be thankful nobody was hurt or killed. Next question, did you get the deer for the freezer?

I know I have older vehicles that are in amazingly great condition yet. And they are way more valuable to me then the market valve would ever pay! Sorry for your lost.

Best thing about owning a ford escort is if you need service just look in the yellow pages they have their own section in the phone book. Escort Service, you can call and get a jump 24 hours a day.
