Other engine sounded meaner

A guy brings us a 80s model ski boat with a locked up v8 in it. We pulled the heads, one valve was the size of a dime. Horrible looking inside. We replaced his engine with a newer v8. He shows up to hear it run and says "The other engine sounded "meaner". " -- I told him "I can pull a plug wire off if you want me to." :facepalm:

I call customers like that 85%ers. Meaning that 85% of the people that own boats probably shouldn't but thank goodness they do. Keeps the bills paid.

it could have sounded "meaner" depending on what was in the ski boat and what you replaced it with. There is a difference between a ski boat motor and a stern drive motor other than the transmission they are driving.

The motor originally in it was a v8 firing on 7 cylinders giving it a mean "lope" to it.
