Drivers are Chasing everywhere this weekend. Cup Chase race #2 and Truck Chase race #1 plays out at New Hampshire, while the 1st X-Chase race is at the VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 in a night race at Kentucky.

All three series have increased scrutiny after the SNAFU at Chicago with the Cup race winner failing the post-race inspection and facing the possibility of not using the win for automatic advancement to the 2nd Chase round. X-Men and Trucks also have higher inspection standards for their Chases.

The Cup/Truck schedule and X-Schedule from MRN;

Weather for both tracks seems OK with a little chance of precip at New Hampshire tomorrow.

News and Notes
  • Well I think Nascar stepped in it with the Laser Inspection rules for the Chase. The LIS post-race testing validity is being called into question and even as far as some saying it has no repeatability in that a car could be rolled through inspection 4 times with 4 different results. Another question arises - If the lasers are so good, why are only the top 5 and select others laser inspected? Every car should go to the LIS after the race or none. The tolerances are so minute that almost any bump could render a legal car as illegal. Truex said he was bumped by another car, which caused the failure. :noidea:
  • In light of the questions, Nascar announced no penalties to Truex or Johnson. Both failed the post-race LIS and Nascar wiping the egg off their face with the announcement that the winner of the first Chase race failed post-race inspection. They seem to forget that Truex also failed the week before.
  • Watch the cars after the checkered flag falls. Most cars are swerving like they do when warming tires before any green flag. It's being said that they are trying to bump the rear skew back into line to make it through the Lasers. Something is wrong. Way wrong!
  • Other penalties - 2 for missing lugnuts and 7 others for pre-race inspection fails.
  • TV Ratings - Tied with Richmond last week for the lowest of the season. Is the luster gone?

Our winner at Chicagoland was 86SprintBB97Johnson. This is the 2nd :first: for AlphabetMan this year. Congrats.

Trackchick Stars lost a few points in the overall standings - 9 big points. The lead over Vertical Pedal is now only 550 points! Watch out TcS. LOL

Get any changes in before race time on Sunday. Good Luck.

Opps, Dillion and Jones didn't have a good nice night, both knocked out before the end. Sadler claims the first slot in the X men chase, was a good race.

Jones slid into Dillon, then Dillon's crew worked on the car during the red flag, so his car was parked. :tsk:

It's good to see Tifft back on the track.

100 laps in, no cautions and only 24 on the lead lap. Truex has the most laps lead so far, 40. Kenseth, Edwards, Shrubby and Johnson round out the top 5.

Harvick squirts around Kenseth and takes the lead after the final restart. Harvick moves on the the next round with Truex.

And who squirts around Jip to win by 1 point? Why Trackchick Stars, who else. With only 1 point over Jip, we'll wait for the final iFL standings on Tuesday.

That Tinknocker dude makes his picks once at the start of the season and continues to beat me. He's off bow-hunting in Northern AZ & doesn't even watch racing anymore. He used to pound knots into my head while growing up. Maybe that explains some things...:der:

The results are in. Trackchick Stars whooped us again. Gotta be running out places to put these things! Another :first: trophy, #4 this year. Congrats.

TcS added another 100 points to the overall lead ahead of Vertical Pedal.

Next up - Dover for Cup and X-Men. Trucks are in Vegas.
