~~Anyone know of a quality rope out there. Plan on getting the kiddos (7 and 11 years old) skiing this year so I am looking for a good all around rope with handle...I guess ....unless someone can convince me to buy the rope and handle separate....I am the only experienced skier in the family but I also plan on going slalom this year. Have not gone single skiing in years. Are the V trainers worth it? and can they work as a 2 ski family rope as well. Lots of negative reviews out there..handles that sink etc. ..not looking for a $100 rope but, if there is a good all around rope at $50 or under. any help would be awesome

Something like this would be a decent rope
http://www.waterskis.com/Accurate-Po...6_a_7c47121120

Or this

Or this

Thanks for the info. I was reading the reviews on the Accurate handles and most of them sink like competition handles. I think the Radar handles have a foam flotation on the handle to prevent it from sinking.
What about this handle from Masterline its a little more expensive than what I want but it has the EVA handle which will not sink. Is the proline or radar basically the same handle? and can I use this for my kids?

The cheap one is what I have now. It might even be beyond cheap. super thin, nylon I think....and no stretch for sure....so you think that would be best to teach my kids?

+1 to what oldjeep said! My 3 kids and the admiral learned it with a makeshift rope as I was to lazy to buy one. A handle from an el-cheapo piece (rope was completely deteriorated) and the last non-frayed piece of a 3/8" anchor rope I had. When they "had gotten it" I purchased a much better ($75) rope and the only thing they liked better was that the handle had more diameter. My personal take is that unless you go into the pro area the rope has little impact.
A floating handle is a plus especially when you use a rope which doesn't float :)

Anything with "spectra line" and a "synthetic leather or foam rubber" grip should be great.
I just bought one at Dicks Sporting goods for 38.00 on sale, regular was 99.00. What an amazing difference over the old hard handle and nylon ropes.
And I am far from a pro, but I like this new one so much better.

Spectra is what they make wakeboarding ropes out of. It'll be fine for learning on, but that isn't a waterski rope
