Who, you pulled up a really old thread. Why not start a new one?
Why back with wood. Ideally you would just lay in more fiberglass and thicken the area where the tower mounts. However, a quicker way to get a similar thickening agent is to epoxy wood onto the fiberglass, to help spread the load over a larger area.
Speaking of Arial towers, it looks like they changed how the feet bolt on the legs. That should really improve them, given that this is the area I have to tighten the most and where I get my creaks.
