Hey guys, hope all is well, will its time for me to go bigger.....

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2000 Chaparral 30 signature (29.1 ft) and looking for a trailer to buy. I want to buy a bigger/longer trailer so when i go bigger AGAIN i don't have to purchase another trailer. I've done some research and read that the boat will take a beating since the trailer will ride rougher. So question is how much bigger can i go on the trailer? i see one for sale that states 34' 18K cap....will it work?

thanks again guys! love this forum.

IF that 18k trailer is a tri axle and it likely is you MAY be able to remove the front axle and put it away till you need it.... You would need to see what hardware can be moved around to eliminate the front equalizer and you'd be left with a 12k trailer which should be spot on for a 29'er and enough tongue on the front for a jetski or two....

Since you will be hauling a shorter boat on the back of the trailer your tongue weight MAY work out really well using the two back axles.
