new hydraulic trailor coupler

hello everyone , I have to replace the coupler on my trailor , it is a tandem axle . the coupler that is on it takes a 2and 5sixteenths ball , the one I am looking at takes a 2 inch ball which is good for 6000 pounds . will this coupler work okay ? the boat is a1996 256 monteray cruiser . thanks .

what's the weight of your boat and trailer? if your under 6K, I'd say your good..

hello , the boat weighs 4600 pounds , the trailor is made by custom haul it is made out of steel , the axles are a 6 bolt pattern , the neighbour thinks it is a 12,000 pound trailor . thanks .

Ayuh,.... Then stick with a 2, 5/16" ball,....
