I bought a LED kit for my boat trailer about 2 years ago. The boat is in a restore mode and the lights have only been to the launch about 4 times and have never been in the water. it was last used about 3 months ago and the lights were ok.
This time I noticed that on the right lite, 2 of the led's illuminated out of about 10 (didn't count 'em). Pulled off the lens and everything was clean and dry and no corrosions. The curcuit was potted in with clear epoxy and the components looked good.
the only abuse I can think of is that that light in in direct sun, Texas Coast, for about 4 hours a day.
Any ideas what goes wrong with these and how to prevent.
