http://shop.easternmarine.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=catalog.catalog&categoryID=196

I could not find a model 315. The T2400 is a good winch but is designed for a smaller boat.
I have used Power Winches for years, if you buy one w/a snatchbolck, use it if you want the winch to last. This info came from a ScottFretzer shop foreman (they make the winches) It is slower this way but reliable. Otherwise buy a larger winch that can single line the weight of your boat.
I use a 2400 now but when I replace it, I will spend the extra $40 and get the T4000. I have a Seacraft 23WA w/200 hp merc

Re: powerwinch

Hello all, New boater with a question. I was looking at getting the Powerwinch 315 that was rated for up to 17ft and 4000lbs max weight. The boat I have is 21ft and 3000lbs. Obviously the winch can handle the weight but is the length going to be an issue or should I look at a winch (say the Powerwinch RC23) that covers both length and weight but cost more as well?

Re: powerwinch

I bought the 912 refurbed for 208 on the Powerwinch website. The threaded pinion on the motor unscrewed itself right away but its been working great since I loctited it back on.

I'd spend a little more for plenty of capacity.
