How Can I tell What Year My TeeNee Trailer Is?

I stripped it in preparation for repainting and did not see any numbers stamped anywhere on the frame or pieces that I took off. It's for my 16 foot 1957 Arkansas Traveler boat. The trailer has a single axle with a panhard bar, shocks, coil springs, roller bunks, trailing stabilizer arms, the contoured winch assembly on the front, and beautiful round fat fenders over the wheels. I've got pics I can email if it will help. I'm guessing 1950 something?....

Ae you in a state where trailers are not titled or registered?

Did you just find it in a field, or was there any type of transfer that involved paperwork?

In most states, trailers are titled, and there is a complete paper trail of ownership.

Right, I'm in Oklahoma, so we're not required to title the trailer. There are no VIN or serial numbers anywhere on the trailer. (We do have to title our motors and boats.)

I have one of those trailers and don't know the year either. They were real bad about just applying a little sticker on the tongue with serial number and date made but of course in about a year or so it was gone

Heya BubbaKat, got any pics of yer trailer? Is it restored? I'm just about done with mine. Just need to undercoat the fenders, add lights, safety chains, and winch rope and she'll be about done.

Naw all I did was replace the bearings and tires and lights and run the hound out of it.
Neat little old trailer though. Neighbor gave it to me. I use it to haul my river boat around and get a lot of comments about the coil springs
:D :D

I have a TeeNee trailer as well. My serial number is #43431. I'd like to know the exact year myself. I have more pics of it too, if anyone is interested.

There was apparently a pretty long span in which Tee Nee was making trailers. I have a 1971 trihull that as far as I am told, came with the Tee Nee trailer it is still on. The trailer is a fairly normal looking roller trailer with a 1971 Maryland title, but here in NJ we don't title trailers. I have an older aluminum Starcraft boat that came to me on a well rusted Tee Nee trailer which I sold in favor of a modern full roller trailer, that one still had it's original Certificate of Origin when Ig got it. It was a twin rail, twin axle trailer which used a hard roller set up and the cross members were u bolted to the main frame rails. It was similar to the design of the Escort trailers that came with so many lower end Bayliners.

Just bought one with yellow paint underneath. Plate riveted on right side of crossmember with numbers. In 1955 Tee Nee Trailer Company of Youngstown, Ohio furnished around 90 percent of all trailer couplers used by the various trailer manufacturers in the country. This indicates that they dominated the market at the time. Tee Nee painted their trailers a yellow colour until 1962 when they changed to a "new metallic charcoal gray finish." Tee Nee's 1962 catalog showed eleven models ranging in capacity from 400 up to 3,400-pound boats.

A new to me TeeNee trailer has a plate with, to the best of my ability, "I061 113698_". It has rollers in the beam. I am guessing late 1950s. Is this even the right pattern for a SN?

A relative of mine puchased this trailer between 1949 and 1954. It is a single axel small boat trailer with a 1 7/8" coupler. Data plate has a serial number of 22003 and the manufactuerers name and address on it. Balance of data plate is not legible.
