Is there any way to change a simple 1157 bulb in the Wesbar sealed boat trailer tail light without buying a new light? Looks like a replacement capsule with the bulb in it is offered but it cost over $10 and you have to cut and splice the wires. Anyone with suggestion on how to economically replace a bulb in these tail lights?

I tried it the last time I had one go out. After 20 minutes of messing around with nothing to show it but a mess for I threw in the towel and ordered a new capsule.

I loved these lights on my old trailer. They lasted for years. But you are stuck buying a new capsule if it breaks or burns out. And you had better buy a few spares, because they are hard to find when you need them.

Now days, I would invest the money in a set of LED lights.

I simply cut open the plastic and replaced the bulb. It's not sealed anymore but then again, I don't forget to unplug my trailer lights when launching the boat.

Had identical problem.

Or move your lights up so they never get wet and even cheap ones will last forever.
