Info on a Calkins boat trailer

I have Calkins trailer under my 1986 2150 Bayliner and need to find about about the hydraulic brake system. I need info on maintentance and care of this trailer. Please help.

Brakes are brakes. Just like the drum brakes on cars (although four wheel disks are pretty much the norm these days). If you operate in salt water, a thorough flush is required after every dunking. Keep an eye on the brake fluid and check it periodically for contamination. Again, like your car there is nothing you can see unless you pull the wheels and drums. Replace the linings when they are worn. Flushing the system every couple of years is not a bad idea either. If you've not inspected the wheel bearings and repacked them, that would be a good time to check the brake system as well since it would be looking at you. Replace rusty pieces and do not use grease or lub of any kind as it can find its way to the drum, then to the brake linings which causes very poor brake action including lockup in cooler weather.
