Needing a replacement trailer for my trophy 2002WA. Looking at aluminum. A concern is the bunk layout. He stern bunks are edgeup vs the flat style bunks on my old galvanized trailer. Is this a concern?

You get more load spread out over a larger area with the flat sides up. And even more if you use 2" x 6" bunks for more load spreading surface. The wider the bunk surface area, the less is pushes on any one place on the hull. JMHO

Most aluminum trailers around here have big ol hunks of cypress on edge. About 10 x 6, then contoured to fit the hull

Every single dual axle/triple axle bunk trailer has the bunk up on edge. The massive 4x8 or 4x10's that are used are as strong as can be and besides, there would be no other way to get the bunk attached to the bunk brackets otherwise.
