Pontoon Center Mount Trailer - Questions and Concerns - Any Suggestions ?

Here is a good page showing the difference between the 2 types of trailers that people call "scissor" The one that they call pipe frame trailers are the ones that get a little more sketchy since all the weight is on top.

Yea. Here is the actual pictures he sent me of the boat on the trailer. Maybe you can tell me which one it is. Take a look.

The page you gave me also says the single axle of these are "just plain unsafe" - And that is what this is... single axle... I keep hoping for better news since I want to make the trade for the boat, but at this point I just don't know...

That isn't a scissor trailer of any kind. Just a home made booger welded trailer that supports the pontoon from the center and can't be lowered (unless there is a crank somewhere that I can't see). It would be tough to say if it is safe or not since it is home made and you can't see the axle, but judging by the care that was taken to weld the bow stop on I think I'd pass.

Square cuts welded to the sides of things indicate a lack of care and tools.

Straight & smooth is no problem for either type.

Interesting it has TN numbers and a MS sticker.

Im with others... I would not want to trust that trailer for a 45 minute drive.
