I have an 18' Nitro boat on its original single axle trailer. The steel wheels/tire are 215/75r14. The tires and starting to dry rot and rims getting rusty. I saw through Tractor Supply that I can order 205/75r14 tires and rims for a really good price. Is there any reason I can go this route?

Load rating in lbs is going to be lower on the 205/75r14

Just me but I like bias ply tires, they won't blow out like radials. Just looked up 205 and 215 and found there is about 115 pound load difference between them as oldjeep mentioned. So if your on the edge and 230 pounds capacity will make a difference then NO

On the cost side I see $55 (205) and $62 (215) for differences in cost, and TSC is not the best place for price in my neck of the woods

Edit: BTW $6 difference in radials $81/$87 Goodyear and $69/$73 Loadstar
