Seems simple enough to replace and it is this is my second time doing it. So my question is "if tongue weight is lets just say 250 lbs what weight capacity should my tongue jack be"? Boat and trailer loaded are about 3500 pounds. When hooking trailer to hitch I am only lifting a few hundred pounds at the tongue.. Also consider when I change tires or bearings at home and I jack up the rear of the trailer what weight might that transfer to the tongue jack? So how heavy a capacity tongue jack is recommended. I see 1000, 1200, and 1400 as the most common. All are well over the tongue weight of my trailer but not near the weight which may be transferred upon jacking up the rear of the trailer or the axle(s)?
I have a 21 foot center console with a 150 2 stroke and aluminum tandom axle trailer.

OK Thank you. I will go with 1500 lbs. Perhaps I just killed my last two by jacking to the max height at least each time I parked in order to drain the boat .
