I did some trading and got a 2000 xl800 .I can't get it to fire .I've been trying to reset the codes not sure if that worked. Any ideas

What exactly is it doing? When you say it won't fire, is it cranking at all? If not, do you hear a click? Paint us a picture of what it is doing when you hit that start button.

It turns over fine I believe it's the cdi I have one from a smaller ski but it doesn't plug in the same trying to find a skimmatic of wires
