I picked up a very cheap 93 Seadoo SP last fall, had been sitting for 5 years. After messing around a bit, got it to start up and run. Took a compression test and got 120 in both cylinders. Many forums said at that level I should do a top end rebuild. So I tore it apart and replaced gaskets and rings etc. The cylinders looked great, gave them a hone and threw it back together. Also replaced the oil hoses (which was a good thing as they were pretty rough). So I ran it about 2 hours so far this summer and it does run well. Re-took the compression again (it was cold) and got only 120 psi. Supposed to be closer to 145. Do I need to warm it up first? Or is my gage bad?

120 was just fine you did not need to tear down the ski, more importantly the cylinders are even. I bet your gauge is a bit off but forgetaboutit , go ride the ski and don't mess with it.
