2000 Kawasaki STX 900 Lost RPM

My jet ski was running fine then one day while running at full speed the RPMs dropped about 1000. Did this off and on for about five minutes. Seemed to clear up but now I can't get over 4500 RPM. Any ideas? I thought it may have fouled a plug but not checked yet.

Do you get flow out of the water outlet on the side of the craft? You may be in limp mode. My '98 arc 1100 did that once when a hose fell off. There are sensors on the cooling system to make sure it is pumping cooling water. That's the first place I'd check.

Yeah I still get good water on the side.

sure sounds like a bad plug or bad plug wire. Kawasaki has a reputation for bad plug wires the cores actually go bad.
