Key wont engage hard start

Hi Boaters, The round starting key has to be turned and manipulated before I am able to crank the engine. Always get the warning test beeps but the start button only clicks the starter/selonid till the key gets positioned perfectly; This started late last season so I put the best/stock battery in it. Still does this but hasn't left me stranded yet. Is this a new key possibly or something else . Thanks.

If you're getting two beeps the key is hooked up and doing it's thing. I think wiggling the key around and then it starts is just a coincidence.

I'd replace the solenoid. If this is a newer seadoo that has the solenoid outside of the ebox (open to the elements of the hull) that is a very common problem.
