whats up guys, i just got a 1999 yamaha 1200xi 2 stroke, how reliable are these skis, how many hours should i get out of one of these, it has 138 hours on it now, i did a compression test ans i have 125 on all 3 cylinders , im going to try to water test it this weekend, just trying to get some input on it , thanks in advanced

I would say they are pretty much "bulletproof". My wife's 1999 SuV, with the same engine, has been a great ski. My only suggestion would be to check the oiling system to assure the small hoses and tie wraps are not brittle and likely to come loose. If you loose the lube oil to the carbs the engine will quickly self-destruct. My neighbor has a couple of Yamahas that are a few years older and recently replaced all the hoses just as a safety measure. I learned this the hard way and had to replace the engine when the back piston/cylinder started to melt. Oops !
