I just purchased a 1998 Yamaha Waverunner GP1200. The previous owner diconnected the two cables that control the nozzle trim (operated by the left hand grip). He pinned it in place with a block of wood at the plate where the cables attach. Is there a known issue with this system? Why would one disconnect and pin it? Previous owner isn't responding to any questions, I assume since he has the cash in hand now.

I went ahead and ordered the correct factory Yamaha parts to put this trim back in use. I have no idea why the previous owner took the cables off and pinned the control in place. It's clear from riding solo and dual that this trim will come in handy to prevent porpoising.

You didn't get any input and I was just looking around the PWC section... thought I'd give my .02.

Could be they had an older one before, that manually adjusted at the rear and never understood why anyone would want to make any adjustments!

Not saying it was smart.. just sayin'...

Hope the fix went well!
