Mid 70's Mecury 1500 - 150HP
1969 Starcraft Jupiter 18ft
Current Prop # 4877346a-4 19P
Looking up that # above - looks to be a 13" Diameter and a 19 inch pitch.

Hello, old prop got all busted up. I just bought the bought within the last few years and never paid much attention to the prop that was on the engine. Some of the stuff I have read so far indicates the prop is too small for this application. I just need an mid of the road prop as I just cruise on the boat. Not too worried about top end nor a good launch.

Suggestions?

The motor needs to be propped so it can operate at wot(wide open throttle)within it rated rpm 5300 to 5800.
This is the time to do some tests to see if your setup works.
Read the stickys at the top of the prop forum.
Get us the wot rpm and gps speed. If the prop needs repair a prop shop may be able to tune it up
to get a good test.If the prop needs to be replaced you can sell it or keep for a spare.
The 19 is a good starting point.
